Radio Interviews

Red Ice brings you the Alien Interviews:

“Lynn Marzulli returns to the program to discuss his latest title “The Alien Interviews” on UFO’s, Aliens Abductions, Cattle Mutilations and high strangeness. Lynn is the author of “The Nephilim Trilogy, “Politics, Prophecy and the Supernatural” joins us to discuss his new book “The Alien Interviews”. Topics Discussed: The Alien End Game, Hypnosis Techniques, Black-Ops, Medical Experimentation, The different races of Aliens, Cattle Mutilation, The Vatican Disclosure, Obama, Obama inaugural UFO Sighting, David Jacobs, Black-Ops, Aliens working with humans, The UK Wind Turbine Incident, Phoenix lights, Men in Black, The Grays and much more.”

Coast to Coast:
Researcher L.A.Marzulli discusses how a recent string of events validates notions of a coming great deception, as foretold in ancient prophecies. He cited the Myanmar cyclone, the Chinese earthquake, and other natural disasters, along with the Middle East tensions as being indicators that we’re living in the time prophesied by Ezekiel, and in the Book of Revelation.

Natural disasters are up more than 400% in the last two decades, he noted. Book of Revelation writes about a one-world government and religion, as well as the mark of the beast. Marzulli suggested that a terrorist attack involving suitcase nukes might be used as a pretext for people to get microchipped for alleged security reasons (the chip would be the mark that is prophesied).

He believes that a war in the Middle East will be a supernatural trigger, leading to the appearance of huge spaceships (1-3 miles wide) in the skies. The ETs (who are actually fallen angels) will claim to be the progenitors of humankind and religion– but this is the great Luciferian deception, designed to get everyone united in a one-world govt./religion, he detailed.’

The Cursed Radio show:
Discussions on the coming one world government, the Illuminati and the UFO phenomena.
Paranormal Talk:
Continuing discussion on the controversial book, “Politics, Prophecy, & The Supernatural”. Discussions on Biblical prophecy and how it ties in with current events in the Middle East.

The Cursed Radio show:
Speaking about his new book, “The Alien Interviews”, exploring the ongoing UFO/Extraterrestrial presence and his interviews with over 17 people who have had direct contact, with the phenomenon.

Ghostman & Demon Hunter Show:
L.A. Marzulli discusses his NEPHILIM TRILOGY. In a spellbinding trilogy that weaves truth, prophecy, fiction, and the author’s own shocking research, Opens with the discovery of a giant skeleton in Jerusalem, the ancient remains of the offspring of a fallen angel and a human woman Nephilim, and the beginning of a hybrid lineage whose terror is about to be reborn into the modern world.

Murph The Monkey Show:
Well known author and researcher, L.A. Marzulli who has researched the multi-faceted supernatural phenomena regarding UFOs and many of the events and people surrounding this issue.

Beyond Science Podcast:

L.A. Marzulli author of the Nephilim Trilogy. Topics include, the alien Gospel, and the problems in the Middle East. He paints a picture of our near future and it’s not pretty.

PID Radio:
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull IS IT PROPAGANDA when it’s only a movie, and a pretty mediocre one at that? Our guest tonight, Dr. Lynn Marzulli, author of Politics, Prophecy, and the Supernatural, says yes. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is, in Lynn’s view, a thinly veiled piece of predictive programming intended to prepare us for the forthcoming disclosure event, the revelation that we owe our existence to our “space brothers”. Furthermore, all the world’s religions are based on a flawed creation myth, and now they’ve returned to help us take the next step in our spiritual evolution.

The Strong Delusion:
Marzulli’s new book, Politics, Prophecy and the Supernatural, further expands on his considerable research in the subject of UFOs, Abduction Phenomena, and genetic manipulation from the grounding of solid Biblical prophecy. Marzulli came to know Jesus Christ after the disillusion and deception of New Age spiritualism.

    Practical Sigil Magic[1] :: Astrology, Tarot, Numerology & I-Ching.

    Saturday, July 17th, 2010 6:12pm PDT

    Your Present Hexagram

Truth involves establishing an aware relationship between your inner core and the circumstances in your life. Centering in truth involves the ability to perceive a fundamental wisdom, reflected within yourself and the people you know.

Truth is transformed into power when you dissolve prejudice and make yourself receptive to the world as it really is. Truth’s power can be a remarkable force indeed — yet is rarer than generally imagined. It can be maintained only by cultivating a genuine openness to things as they are — a willingness to see, rather than merely look.

Whenever your inner life is clouded, your influence in the world is under a shadow. If you are fearful, you will be attacked; if you cloak genuine mysteries in dogma, opportunities for new insight will be lost. If you vacillate in upholding your principles, you will be tested. Yet, when you are firm and strong, the power of truth can break through even the most stubborn minds.

In any debate, the power to perceive the truth in the other side’s argument is essential to achieving success. It is possible to influence even the most difficult people, or improve the most difficult circumstance, through the power of universal truth — for unvarnished truth is something to which all things naturally respond. Get in touch with the part of yourself that is aware of this universal force. Cultivate this inner resource, and you will become adept at using it to bond with others to support a common purpose.

    The Future of This Situation:

Because your hexagram for the situation or concern you’re wondering about has changing lines, the Oracle has even more insight to give you. Changing Lines are the part of an I-Ching reading that always gives the most powerful advice about a situation because they represent the factors that are causing things to change right now

The human mind seeks to create order out of Chaos
It is in the nature of humanity to attempt to formulate laws from experience
as a guide to future action. Acting as a feedback-response
mechanism, the mind considers the results of previous behaviour and
creates laws of action in an attempt to repeat past good results and
avoid bad results. In the individual this is known as personality, in
the communal world it is known as science.

    All scientific laws are false
Science attempts to map the universe as a result of previous collective
experience. Since this is limited to what has actually been
experienced so far, it is always inadequate, and since it is not what
has been experienced it is always human-centred. It cannot be objective
because the object does not experience, only the subject, humanity,
experiences. Two approaches have been used to tackle this problem.
The philosophy of the western world posits that an external,
objective world interacts with us through scientific experiment, thus
science creates objectively true laws. Other European philosophy
holds, correctly in my view, that talk of an objective reality is
beyond experience and is thus meaningless babble. Moreover, scientific
experiment is no more objective than a childs attempt to walk. To Know
is not a high ideal, it is an instinct born of our particular way of
survival, and is thus survival-centred. Science is our Elephant Trunk,
our Giraffe Neck, and since it is inherently inadequate, it is a
belief system, a set of interconnected ideas-about-things. In terms of
European, Post-Hegelian philosophy, it is an ideology.

All idealogies are subject to chaotic dissolution
Every idealogy, whether science, Christianity or whatever, seeks to
and succeeds in creating a coherent view of reality that satisfies its
believers. The problem is that there is inevitably a gulf between the
idealogy and reality. Ideologies are fixed; reality is fluid. Thus all
ideologies are subject to readjustment when a new discovery challenges
the existing view. The rediscovery of the Greek text of the New
Testament and the discovery of the non-existence of the Ether each
corroded the existing ideologies of their day.
The Christian world responded with Reformation and Counter-Reformation.
(Historical note: Counter-Reformation was the Reformation of the
Catholic Church rather than an attack on the Protestant Reformation.)
Science responded with Einsteinian relativity. These new elements are
Chaotic. The extent to which the ideology can reform depends on how
deep the Chaotic element bites into the ideological structure. Every
ideology has central tenets upon which the rest depend: so the discovery
that Jesus was actually stoned to death rather than crucified
would cause major rumblings; the discovery that he was a woman would
cause deeper rumblings; but the discovery that he was a spaceman
carrying out a standard sociological experiment would bring down the
ideology entire. Several ideologies have completely collapsed in the
past, such as Ptolomaic astronomy, and it can happen again. Moreover,
the spread of a unified ideology over the whole globe, Western Democracy,
leaves the way open to a bigger collapse than ever before.

There is no such thing as innate value
All present Western ideologies depend upon a concept of innate
worth, whereby certain things are automatically "better" than
others. The White Race, Men, Adults, all have had their "innate"
value knocked for six. Even the Animal Kingdom is no longer seen as
of higher worth than the Vegetable as the spread of the Gaia
hypothesis shows. This is the Chaotic element that can bring down a
whole pack of cards. There is no ethical reference point, no
beginning from which to derive an end to aim for, to praise, to work
towards. As it says in Liber Al: "let there be no difference made
between one thing and another". The result is a confusion of belief
as people scramble to find a new ideology. Fundamentalists choose
deliberate blindness and perverse stupidity. Thelemites choose "pure
will, unassuaged of purpose". Chaoists worship the confusion itself
as the only "true thing" left. Pagans begin to construct a new
ideology based on the absence of heirarchy and turn to cyclical and
egalitarian beliefs. That a new ideology, or many, will arise is
inevitable; even the truth of Chaos is only true to us, in our
experience. But so what. All things considered, I think that things
    are going pretty well.

    The General and The Aliens

    The General and the Aliens
    By Scott Corrales
    (with thanks to Raul Núñez)
A number of books and magazine features have been written, over the years, about the presence of strange non-human “counselors” or “advisors” whose presence has weighed heavily upon some of the most important figures in world history. The exact nature of these shadowy beings has always been a matter of controversy: some have associated them with space aliens, time travelers, envoys from the court of the King of the World in legendary, subterranean Aghartha, tutelary spirits, ascended masters. As these entities never present their credentials, and the gulf of centuries separates us from their activities, these accounts are safely circumscribed to myth and hearsay. These visits, while usually reserved for individuals endowed with political or military power, have sometimes been bestowed upon others, as in the case of the resplendent beings who visited the alchemist Facius Cardan in August, 1491, and who discussed the nature of the universe and the immortality of the soul. These entities, appearing before the befuddled alchemist, were arrayed in gold and purple armor with glittering boots. One of them, the foremost among them, was described as having “the most commanding air…and a face that was dark red in color.”
Might this red-faced elemental have been the “Red Man” who appeared on three separate occasions to Napoleon Bonaparte? And what of the “Grey Man” who aided and abetted the conquests of King Charles XII of Sweden, and the longhaired figure that supposedly showed George Washington the “birth, growth and destiny of the United States?” These unknown parties bestowed crucial information that benefited, or provided encouragement, to these historical figures at critical moment.
Brad Steiger, the master chronicler of the unknown, gives us added insight into the specifics of these meetings in his book Atlantis Rising (NY: Dell, 1973). The headstrong Napoleon was admonished by the “Red Man” to desist from his efforts to conquer Egypt, predicting the expedition’s failure. “True to the Red Man’s predictions,” writes Steiger, “the Egyptian campaign failed. In 1809, after the Battle of Wagram, Napoleon made his headquarters at Schonbrunn, where again he received the mysterious visitor.” The Red Man would grace the Little Corporal with his presence once more, in 1814, when beset by his enemies, the emperor was forced to consider abdication. “It is said that Napoleon beseeched the Red Man for time to complete the execution of certain proposals, but the prophetic messenger gave him only three months to achieve a general peace or it would all be over for him.” The emperor was unable to do this, opting instead for a renewed military option, and was forced to abdicate and withdraw to his first place of exile – the Italian island of Elba.
Our friends at IIEE Chile have recently posted to their blog an article written by one of the forgotten giants of South American paranormal studies – Prof. Francisco Aniceto Lugo, whose essays appeared magazines and journals on both sides of the Atlantic and whose speculative works, such as Las Cuatro Grandes Catastrofes Cosmicas Mundiales (Mexico: Editorial Orión, 1978) are highly sought by collectors.
Professor Lugo’s article bears the title “Bolivar y los Extraterrestres” (Bolivar and the Extraterrestrials) — referring to the General Simon Bolivar, who won the independence of five South American countries from Spain – and it issue No. 56 of Revista Kabala, dated June 1981. The article goes on to include General Bolivar among the illustrious personages to have face-to-face encounters with these beings, and we translate his article below with sincere thanks to Raul Nuñez of the IIEE.
    Bolivar and the Extraterrestrials
    By Francisco Aniceto Lugo
It must seem very strange to our readers to see me state that the Liberator had contact with aliens and received information from them. In saying this, I am basing myself upon the very important historical research of Don Luis Beltrán Reyes, which are rather well documented and therefore worthy of trust. At no point does he suggest that the three strange men that mysteriously interviewed the Liberator were aliens, but the characteristics of these beings, as described, are sufficient for me to sustain, as I do now, that they were in fact aliens without question. During the course of his famous military campaigns, Bolivar would meet with three mysterious men, very strange in their appearance, and whose arrival and departure, or no man knew the means through which this was achieved. According to the description given by Luis Beltrán Reyes, these three men were tall and distinguished in their manner. They wore white uniforms with white dress coats and golden cuffs, with the extraordinary detail that [the uniforms] were emblazoned with golden spikes that gave off a strange luminescence. They also wore Wellington-style boots, but the strangest feature was that their footsteps could not be heard as they walked. Moreover, some witnesses say that they were endowed with magical powers, such as the ability to become invisible whenever they deemed it necessary.
These strange men practically followed the Liberator everywhere and conferred with him, especially when critical situations arose in military situations or great battles, to insure the success of Bolivar’s troops. Surely, these interviews were far from being common knowledge among the combatants. They took place in great secrecy and confidence. Nonetheless, the fact that they were taking place filtered down to events frequented by the high command, and these officers began wondering the role being played by these strange people. The intrusion – to give it a name – of these three strange beings, fostered by the Liberator, became more noticeable every day and Bolivar’s staff became increasingly concerned, in the belief that these people were being apprised of the plans of the independence movement, thus jeopardizing its triumph through the alleged disclosure of important secrets. But it could not be further from the truth, since it was these “extraterrestrials” that surely displayed the true progress of events to the Liberator, all the while finding the best way to counteract the military progress of the Royalists and obtain a resounding victory as soon as possible. Of course, the information exchanged between the extraterrestrials and the Liberator was the greatest secret; only a few people were aware of this, and only then indirectly.
Day after day, the presence of these three unknown individuals causes increasing concern among members of Bolivar’s staff and his closest friends, who believed that the affair could have disastrous consequences for the Patriots, to the extent that Santander [Gen. Francisco de Paula Santander, 1792-1840] was moved to address a letter to the Liberator: “There is nothing that grieves me more than to contradict your thoughts, but see, My General, that I’m a sincere and honest man. I further suppose that Your Excellency shall make good use of his new friends, given the power they profess to have. But I repeat, My General, that no one knows them or their true intentions…”
One of Bolivar’s closest friends, Don Pepe Paris, wrote about the matter to a friend in Santa Marta three years after the Liberator’s death: “I believe they were the Liberator’s advisors. On my part, I was glad for it, as you know how much I loved Bolivar and how it pained me to see him surrounded by ingrates and enemies…” This also goes to show that some of the Liberator’s nearest and dearest believed that the three unknown men he met with could have an unfavorable influence on the War of Independence. However, they were never seen to have had any kind of untoward effect on the matters of the great armed encounters of the Revolution.
Before the battle of Carabobo, for example, Bolivar met at Tinaquillo with the three enigmatic characters, and as is well known, this tremendous feat of arms (in which nearly the entire Venezuelan nation took part, young men, teenagers and the elderly, along with women of all ages and even the infirm) was the decisive engagement of the struggle for independence. It can therefore be said that the influence exerted by the three unknown characters was evidently a positive one.
The fact that the golden spikes emblazoned on their uniforms gave off a strange luminescence, the fact that their footsteps could not be heard, the no less important fact that they had certain magical powers, even to become “invisible” when circumstances dictated the need, along with other details, make it clear that these enigmatic beings could have been aliens. On the other hand, General Santander himself confirms this characteristic when he writes in his letters of “the powers they profess to have…” Moreover, Manuelita Sáenz [Bolivar’s influential mistress] remarked about these significant characteristics in later years, after the Liberator’s death, when answering questions put to her by the eminent figures that visited her in Paita.
Not a few great men who have changed the course of History have had the protection of the gods. Bolivar, bent on carrying out the most astonishing adventure of all times, could not be the exception. This thrills us, stimulates us, and tells us at the same time that our people are not alone. We have, without question, aside from the protection afforded to all by Divine Providence, the protection of the gods.
    * * *
Professor Lugo ends his article by employing – twice – the suggestive term “the gods” to refer to these elusive presences. In doing so, he hearkens back to the much-too-human gods of antiquity and their penchant for sometimes directing, or meddling, with the course of human events. Arrayed in unsubtle white uniforms with golden facings, emitting light from the rayed emblem on their chests, Simon Bolivar’s secret “war cabinet” could have stumbled out of a contactee chronicle of the 1950s…or Faucius Cardan’s 15th century description of the elemental or angelic beings that visited him. The interest evinced by these entities in human warfare has been picked up by other authors, such as the late Andreas Faber Kaiser, who mentions the manifestations of angelic and/or saintly figures throughout the conquest of the Inca and Aztec empires by the enterprising Spanish conquistadores. These beings sought to terrify the native resistance, assuring them that all efforts at fighting the invaders were fruitless. Strategic matters are also of interest to them, if we believe the legend that the Emperor Constantine, while tracing out the walls of his “New Rome”, said that an invisible being was guiding him in delineating the walls – aided by a spear – on the soft soil of the Bosphorus. The city of Constantinople would stand for a thousand years as the final redoubt of the Roman tradition, and endures today as Istanbul.
Readers with more than just a casual interest in ufology and high strangeness are surely reminded by all this of how “groups of three” appear to be prevalent in non-human manifestations of which we have records in the 20th century: the notorious Men in Black tend to appear in threes, some classic encounters with “ufonauts” in the Fifties and Sixties involved landing parties (for want of a better term) of three beings. Christian researchers have seen in this the possible demonic nature of such presences, which seek to mock the Trinity. But regardless of their origin or activities in the past, the more fitting question would perhaps be: are any contemporary world leaders receiving advice or solace from such shadowy figures, and if so, what outcome might this have for our times? A distressing thought.

    Rede Of The Wiccae

Being known as the counsel of the Wise Ones:

Bide the Wiccan Laws ye must, in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust.

Live an’ let live – Fairly take an’ fairly give.

Cast the Circle thrice about To keep all evil spirits out.

To bind the spell every time – Let the spell be spake in rhyme.

Soft of eye an’ light of touch – Speak ye little, and listen much.

Deosil go by the waxing Moon – Sing and dance the Wiccan rune.

Widdershins go when the Moon doth wane, An’ the Werewolf howls by the dread Wolfsbane.

When the Lady’s Moon is new, Kiss thy hand to Her times two.

When the Moon rides at Her peak Then your heart’s desire seek.

Heed the Northwind’s mighty gale – Lock the door and drop the sail.

When the wind comes from the South, Love will kiss thee on the mouth.

When the wind blows from the East, Expect the new and set the feast.

When the West wind blows o’er thee, Departed spirits restless be.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go – Burn them quick an’ burn them slow.

Elder be ye Lady’s tree – Burn it not or cursed ye’ll be.

When the Wheel begins to turn – Let the Beltane fires burn.

When the Wheel has turned a Yule, Light the Log an’ let Pan rule.

Heed ye flower bush an’ tree – By the Lady Blessèd Be.

Where the rippling waters go Cast a stone an’ truth ye’ll know.

When ye have need, Hearken not to others greed.

With the fool no season spend Or be counted as his friend.

Merry meet an’ merry part – Bright the cheeks an’ warm the heart.

Mind the Threefold Law ye should – Three times bad an’ three times good.

When misfortune is enow, Wear the Blue Star on thy brow.

True in love ever be Unless thy lover’s false to thee.

Eight words ye Wiccan Rede fulfill – An’ it harm none, Do what ye will.

(Attributed to Adriana Porter, and printed as originally published in Green Egg magazine by her granddaughter, Lady Gwen Thompson.)

We Wiccans are a misunderstood bunch, but our virtue lies in the principles we follow. The greatest rule by which Wiccans abide is the Wiccan Rede, encompassed in those eight words. The Rule of Three, contained within the Rede, governs what a Wiccæ should do, and the majority of the rest of the Rede tells of when and how one should do things. The poem is attributed to Adriana Porter, an alleged witch who was killed in Massachusetts. How does Porter portray the code of the Wiccæ with this singsong poem about holidays and gods? This article will take an academic approach to this religious piece.

The primary means of portraying meaning is by using two types of oratory. Epedeictic oratory is a type of ceremonial oratory, used in such occasions as funeral orations or church services. From this definition, the Wiccan Rede is epideictic rhetoric because of both its origins and its uses in ritual. Such lines as those about casting the circle three times and kissing one’s hand upon the moon being new are examples of ritual, one of the primary concerns of epideictic rhetoric. The body of the poem is written in such a way as to be chanted, as if during ceremonial dancing around a great bonfire, like that discussed by Patricia Telesco in The Wiccan Book of Ceremonies and Rituals: “begin dancing clockwise around the fire. There are no special movements to this waltz; simply dance the dance of life.” (55) Even the direction of the wind is taken into account in ritual considerations. This poem differs from deliberative oratory in that deliberative oratory is concerned with change and persuasion. Deliberative oratory can, on occasion, be used as epedeictic oratory, as in the case of the Christian Bible’s “Ten Commandments,” but in the general sense of the term, mystagogues like the High Priest and Priestess make use of more epideictic and less deliberative oratory.

Oratory appeals to certain aspects of the reader that persuade him or her to accept an argument. Ethos is an appeal based upon the credibility of the presenter of any language, be it clear or ambiguous. Within ethos there are three subcategories, which, when followed, cause the development of an ethos between the speaker and the audience: phronesis, or the knowledge of the subject upon which the speaker is speaking; eunoia, the empathetic link of goodwill toward the audience; and arete, or simple virtue. Adriana Porter certainly exhibits phronesis because of her history of being an alleged witch (who better to ask about witchery than a witch?), but also because of her knowledge of the moon phases and such things as “wolfsbane” (an herb more commonly known as Aconitum and attributed the power to keep lycanthropes at bay). She achieves eunoia by instructing the reader or listener about how to keep evil spirits away, how to make spells the most effective and how to generally enrich one’s spiritual life. Arete, on the other hand, is more difficult to define. Perhaps Porter has established arete, but the question is yet to be raised: what virtue does she exhibit by writing this didactic piece of poetry? The clearest argument is that she has virtue in teaching others what the gods are pleased with, as reiterated in the Laws from Lady Sheba’s The Book of Shadows: “The Wicca should give due worship to the Gods and obey Their will, which They ardane, for it was made for the good of the Wicca, as the worship of the Wicca is good for the Gods. For the Gods love the brethren of the Wicca” (3). In these ways she establishes rapport, and more intimately, ethos.

A second appeal, logos, is the words themselves. A tight tandem of logos and ethos makes the speaker look more prepared and thus creates a more intensive rapport with the audience. Words are concrete, difficult to metamorphose, and as such present a foundation for any argument made. In this case, however, no arguments exist appropriate to the philosophy of the Wiccæ. Indeed, acceptance (as opposed to forced change) is a mainstay of such a mindset: “Paganism is essentially tolerant, and so are wise witches. They will fight bigotry or intolerance or religious persecution.” (Farrar, 176) The text is only composed of basic instruction. Thus, the words are almost motherly, as if guiding a child down a path to safety.

Lastly, pathos is the emotional response of the reader or listener. More appropriately, it is an appeal to such emotional responses. Most often this can be accomplished with a short story or a metaphor, but it may also simply be an intense aura of passion that drives the audience to an emotional end. Porter knows her subject matter, and as such knows her audience: aspiring Wiccæ and those older to the art. If they share the same philosophy as she, then her ends have already been met, but if not, then this Rede is her means. To those who seek a righteous life, the traditions expressed and explained are the candle by which one lights his path. Those who already live in the shadow of evil are shown that their own misdeeds will return three times back to them. To reconsider their lives would be a grand thing to do, when presented with their own karma, and the the weight of such karma upon their soul. It is in this way that the pathos is achieved in Porter’s poem.

Other means of conveying meaning abound; these are called “literary devices.” Metaphor is a comparison of two or more things without the use of the words “like” or “as,” as in “My love is a candle that never burns out.” The religion of Wicca itself is a grand-scale metaphor, embodying the Earth as a figure of nourishing, loving and protecting stature. “Mother Earth,” as she is called, is given homage by a process of personification and anthropomorphism, where something non-human is attributed human characteristics. She has a womb, a face and a heart, and “she produces us, nourishes us, makes it possible for us to live, rewards us when we understandingly love her, takes revenge when we abuse her and reabsorbs our material component when we die.” (Farrar, 137) In this way, the Wiccæ are expected to show deep respect and honor for that upon which they live and from which they receive life.

The poem itself is largely in the form of iambic octametre, a scheme in which eight pairs of syllables (the first syllable in the pair being unstressed and the second stressed) comprise a line. In addition, the lines are rife with cæsura, which is a pause in the middle of a line of a poem used to draw attention to both what is directly before and directly after it. Such lines as “Heed the Northwind’s mighty gale – Lock the door and drop the sail” are instructions that are important to remember. The North Wind is embodied as one of anger, ferocity and power; as such, the smart thing to do when a strong North wind begins to blow would be, indeed, to not travel by boat, and to reinforce one’s door. More prevalent than any other device, however, is a form of hyperbaton called “inversion.” Hyperbaton is a device by which conventional word order is discarded in favor of a different order, and inversion places the subject of the sentence after the verb clause, as in “Bide the Wiccan laws ye must.” Lastly, the poem itself is a remarkable example of parallelism, a device in which the lines of a poem closely mirror those surrounding it in syntax.

The rhetoric in Porter’s “The Wiccan Rede” is a very alien rhetoric to Americans. Its language may also be somewhat strange. Nonetheless, the piece itself is a work of non-aggressive persuasive art. Where peace and merriment, ritual and festival, magic and nature meet, there is Wiccæ Cræft. There are Wiccæ, gently persuading by means of example. There is Porter’s work, immortalized as the Wiccan Rede. Such a piece as this may never be found again, or may be found in the heart of the reader, or may even be right before the reader. Who is to say?

I keep a secret hidden deep

In the back of my bedroom closet.

    Packed loosely and gently

Sits a dusty old piece of luggage

    Full of dreams and destinations

    Now forbidden but not forgotten.

    In a plastic Zip-loc baggie

    There’s a 10 and a crumpled 20,

A toothbrush and tube of toothpaste,

A wash cloth and a soap box that’s empty,

    Phone numbers and addresses

    Of long distant, long-lost friends.

And a favorite pair of jeans

Too small and tattered at the ends,

Two pairs of sox bought for a nickel

    From a box on a stranger’s lawn,

Four hair elastics in a safety pin

    A clip and a comb,

Three tank tops, two pairs of boxers,

And a sweatshirt named for home.

There’s an old pack of Camels

    Because drifters always smoke,

A journal, a box of pens

And a copy of “On the Road”,

A photo album of memories for when

The day gets long and lonely

And a bottle of cheap old bourbon

For when the nights get melancholy.

Always trying to appear at my best

    Seeking and never speaking

I can’t even allow myself to know the Truth of any of it.

    And several little keepsakes that

    I never should have kept.

I keep secrets packed deep in a duffle bag

    Deep in my bedroom closet

    Behind skeletons and memory maps

    That outline where I’m going.
